South Australian businesses urged to nominate for Governor’s Multicultural Awards

Multicultural Affairs Minister Zoe Bettison is urging South Australian businesses that value cultural diversity to nominate for this year’s Governor’s Multicultural Awards.

The call for businesses to consider nominating comes as three new award categories; aged care, family safety and economic development, are included.

Ms Bettison said many South Australian workplaces value cultural diversity and she wants to hear from those businesses so their stories can be acknowledged and celebrated.

The awards recognise individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to multiculturalism in South Australia across a range sectors. Nominations are open until Friday 7 October, with winners to be announced in early 2017 at a ceremony at Government House celebrating South Australia’s cultural diversity. Quotes attributable to Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Zoe Bettison

The Governor’s Multicultural Awards recognise those who promote multiculturalism and increase community understanding of the benefits of cultural diversity.

The awards are an opportunity to thank people and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to multiculturalism and community harmony in South Australia. I encourage South Australians to nominate an individual or organisation for an award, to recognise and celebrate their contributions to our culturally diverse society.

This year, I’d especially like to encourage South Australian businesses to put their names forward so we can celebrate their achievements.
