Who is running this event?

This event is hosted by the Department of Human Services on behalf of the Government of South Australia.

The purpose of the event is to gather feedback on ‘A State Autism Strategy for South Australia – Discussion Paper’.

Approximately 30 people will be in attendance including representatives from the State Government, autistic people and members of the autism community.

JFA Purple Orange has been engaged to independently facilitate this roundtable event.

Is the venue accessible?

The venue for this event is Riverside Centre – Plaza, North Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000..

It is equipped with wheelchair access and accessible toilets.

The room is carpeted and has fluorescent lights which will be turned off for this event.

Morning tea will provide a break between sessions, offering a chance for attendees to rest and reset before changing discussion topics. A quiet zone will also be available.

If you have any accessibility or inclusivity requirements (e.g. hearing loop, live captioning), please state this in your registration form and JFA Purple Orange will be in touch to discuss your needs.

How can I best prepare to participate?

To prepare you for the roundtable discussion, we will be delighted to share with you a pre-release copy of the Discussion Paper prior to the event (please respect the publication embargo of 30 September).

If you have any questions about how the roundtable discussions will run, please contact Tracey Wallace from JFA Purple Orange at traceyw@purpleorange.org.au.

Do I need to register in advance to attend?

Yes please. Registrations are essential for catering purposes and to ensure we accommodate for your accessibility needs. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, 28 September 2022.

Will my feedback be made public?
