2019 South Australian Honour Roll nominations open today

Today is International Women’s Day (IWD), which is an opportunity for us to reflect on the work we all do to achieve gender equality and why it is so important. It is also a time to celebrate women in our community through initiatives like the South Australian Women’s Honour Roll.

Nominations for the honour roll open today and people are encouraged to nominate an outstanding woman in their community to be added to the roll.

The Women’s Honour Roll is an important state government initiative that recognises the efforts of women that can often go unnoticed in our community.

We all know them – strong, dedicated women committed to raising others up and contributing to significant positive outcomes in their communities. The honour roll is a way we can formally recognise these sometimes unsung heroes and acknowledge their hard work and achievements.

The honour roll is open to any women who deserve recognition for their commitment to effecting change for a safer and more inclusive society.

Nominations can be submitted on behalf of a person (including those deceased) or by self-nomination and are open until 5pm Friday 14 June 2019.

The Women’s Honour Roll, which is administered by the Office for Women, was established in 2008 and inductees are decided by a panel of community members.
