National Reconciliation Week leading to a more unified future

South Australians are being encouraged to take part in National Reconciliation Week events across the state, to strengthen the relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and the broader community.

The theme for the week is ‘Grounded in Truth: Walk Together with Courage’. This year’s theme underlines the importance of walking together with courage and sharing our stories, which builds stronger relationships and forges genuine partnerships.

The week is about bringing people together from all backgrounds, recognising the challenges and opportunities of Aboriginal people and working together for a more unified future.

The State Government's Aboriginal Action Plan involves working with Aboriginal community leaders and people from across the state, to deliver on-the-ground positive outcomes over the next two years.

We are committed to creating more opportunities for Aboriginal employment, paving the way for the establishment of more Aboriginal businesses, providing better services and building the capacity of Aboriginal communities to engage more effectively with government.
