The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) legislation is being reviewed and participants’ feedback will help shape a new service guarantee.
The Australian Government is reviewing the legislation to make the NDIS process simpler and to remove barriers to positive experiences for participants and providers.
As part of the review a new NDIS Participant Service Guarantee will be introduced by 1 July 2020.
The guarantee will set new standards on the time it takes for key steps in the NDIS process to be delivered. This includes access to decisions, NDIS plan approval and having plans reviewed.
There will also be a focus on improving processes for children and participants who need
- specialist disability accommodation
- assistive technology, or
- other services that require a quote or further approval.
Regional and metropolitan workshops
There will be a workshop at Mt Gambier on 17 September 2019 and in Adelaide on 19 September 2019 from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
Find out more about the review and register to attend a workshop or email NDISConsultations@dss.gov.au.
You can also make a written submission to the review or complete the survey online.
Deadline for feedback
Feedback can be provided until 31 October 2019.
