Grants to help put young South Australians on a level playing field

South Australian youth networks are encouraged to apply for a Youth Network Grant of up to $5000 to support young people.

Youth networks are made up a number of organisations from a local area, such as not-for profits and local governments, that work together to support young people.

Youth Minister Zoe Bettison said applications were now open for grants of up to $5000 which will help the networks deliver better outcomes and services for local youth.

"The 2015 Youth Network Grants will support formal and informal networks to provide services and programs that meet the needs of young people in their local area," Ms Bettison said.

"Networks can apply for funding to build the skills and abilities of its members and to develop resources for the young people they work with.

"For example, they can apply for funding for forums, or to hear from guest speakers on current issues relevant to their local community.

"By encouraging organisations to work together and share information we are creating a collaborative environment which supports the best possible outcomes for young South Australians."

Applications for grants close on Friday, 13 March 2015.
