Community Benefit SA grants awarded
Almost $300,000 has been allocated to non-government community organisations in the latest round of Community Benefit SA grants.
In this round, 39 organisations will receive funding to purchase equipment or vehicles to support projects that build opportunities for individuals, families and communities across South Australia.
Successful organisations include:
- $9,000 to the Conservation Council of South Australia to purchase a TrailRider wheelchair, giving 200 people with disability increased access to rugged places through the Community Connection to Nature program
- $5,195 to For You Inc. for equipment to support the delivery of youth mentoring programs for 50 young people in Playford and Salisbury
- $27,480 to the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia to purchase a vehicle to be used for home visits to 60 people each year in Mount Gambier and surrounding regions.
Community Benefit SA grants of up to $50,000 are available to community organisations, to undertake projects to help individuals, families and communities experiencing poverty or hardship across metropolitan, rural and remote areas of South Australia.
Community Benefit SA provides $3.8 million in grants each year to improve community participation, life management skills, wellbeing and quality of life for disadvantaged South Australians.
Funding in the latest round of grants includes the purchase of a vehicle to connect people with services, improved access to services for people with disability, and upgrades to equipment and technology to improve the delivery and safety of frontline services.
