Help available for women wanting to serve on boards
Applications are open for women to access discounted training in financial management as a board member.
Increasing the number of women in leadership roles, including positions on boards and committees is a priority for the government.
The Australian Institute of Company Directors Finance for Directors course is being offered to eligible women at a reduced rate of $480. This is a saving of over $700.
The full-day course will be held in Adelaide on Friday 7 October 2016.
Applications are open until Friday 19 August.
Women living in regional areas, from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women with disability and Aboriginal women are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Finance for Directors course provides an overview of key responsibilities, an introduction to financial statements and a guide to the financial performance of a company from a director's perspective.
The South Australian Government's women's policy Achieving Women's Equality includes a focus on increasing women's leadership and participation, specifically supporting and encouraging women to pursue leadership positions and increasing the number of women appointed to boards.
Applicants for the discounted training need to complete an application form and a cover letter outlining how they would apply the training.
