Homelessness Week 2017
2017-08-07

Homelessness Week started on 7 August, with a number of events happening around South Australia to highlight the challenges for people experiencing homelessness.
The theme of this year's Homelessness Week is 'Action and Innovation', which is highlighting the many specialist homelessness services being implemented to effectively respond to homelessness.
In March this year, we introduced Adelaide’s Inner City Street Crew, which includes housing and homelessness outreach workers, Registered Nurses, GPs and allied health workers. The crew hits the streets from 1pm-7pm every day, helping rough sleepers access vital health services and somewhere safe to stay.
The Inner City Street Crew is a partnership between the State Government and Adelaide City Council, the Hutt St Centre, Baptist Care, HYPA, and Uniting Communities.
We support the South Australian Homelessness Gateway – a free 24/7 telephone service that helps people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, get access to support and emergency accommodation.
The SAGOV website also includes a list of homelessness service providers across South Australia.
