National housing and homeless ministers meet in Adelaide
Housing and homelessness ministers from across the country met in Adelaide on Friday 19 May to discuss national housing and homelessness issues, policies and reform.
South Australian Social Housing Minister Zoe Bettison chaired the meeting, with the Commonwealth represented by Assistant Minister for Social Services, Zed Seselja.
The meeting included discussions on affordable housing, the new housing and homelessness agreement included in the Commonwealth Government’s 2017-18 Budget and remote housing issues.
This meeting was critical to ensure that national policies are coordinated to support the best possible outcomes for vulnerable Australians.
The first meeting of national Housing and Homelessness Ministers was convened by the South Australian Government in Adelaide, in October 2015.
Housing and Homelessness Ministers have continued to meet regularly ever since.
