Easing cost of living pressures for South Australians on low incomes

Thousands of homeowner-occupiers, retirement village residents and residential park residents on low or fixed incomes have received the State Government’s 2018-19 Cost of Living Concession during August.

More than 137,000 payments of $207.30, totalling in excess of $28.4 million, have been made directly into the bank accounts of eligible South Australians to date, to help with expenses like utility bills and council rates.

Homeowners who received the concession last year will automatically receive this year’s payment, if their circumstances remain unchanged.

Eligible homeowners who have not received their Cost of Living Concession payment by mid-September should email or call the ConcessionsSA Hotline on 1800 307 758.

Applications for the 2018-19 Cost of Living Concession payment remain open until 31 October 2018 and can be lodged online at

The Cost of Living Concession increases in line with the Consumer Price Index each year.
