The Status of Women in South Australia
The first biennial report on the Status of Women in South Australia is now available.
To be released every two years under South Australia’s Women’s Policy 2015 Achieving Women’s Equality, the report describes the status of women in South Australia and focuses on the three pillars of the policy:
- Improving women’s economic status
- Increasing women’s leadership and participation; and
- Improving women’s safety and wellbeing.
The report also highlights initiatives across South Australia government that work towards achieving gender equality. One example is the Women's Leadership Course provided by Multicultural SA, which is a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management tailored to women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Another example is the work of the Department of Treasury and Finance to increase gender diversity in recruitment processes.
