Coordinator appointed to help Yorketown fire community recover
The State Government has appointed a Local Recovery Coordinator to assist South Australians affected by the Yorketown fire.
The newly appointed coordinator – Ms Deb Richardson – is tasked with working with the Yorketown community to understand its recovery needs and identify what other additional assistance may be needed.
In times of need, we recognise communities need additional support and help and that’s why a Local Recovery Coordinator has been appointed to help facilitate recovery after the Yorketown fire.
Ms Richardson has more than 24 years’ experience in community development, including significant involvement with the Adelaide Hills community following the 2015 Sampson Flat fire. She will be a valuable asset for the Yorke Peninsula community during this time.
Emergency Relief Centre
In the meantime, the Yorke Peninsula community is encouraged to visit the Emergency Relief Centre at the Yorketown Town Hall between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.
There, they can chat with staff about immediate supports and assistance that they can access, including grants and emotional support.
