Support for community recovery after Yorketown fire
A community meeting was held in Yorketown on 21 November to discuss community recovery after the recent fires.
At least 11 homes have been destroyed, 200 sheep, 60 chickens and 5 deer were lost. Around $2 million worth of crops have been destroyed and damage assessment remains ongoing.
Moving into the recovery phase
As we move into the recovery phase of this event, it is important that we focus on supporting people and communities to get back on their feet, addressing community health and wellbeing as well as damage to infrastructure, the economy and environment.

An Emergency Relief Centre has been set up at the Yorketown Town Hall.
