Lois Boswell has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Department of Human Services.
Ms Boswell has worked as the Department’s Deputy Chief Executive since 2016 and served as Acting Chief Executive since March. She has extensive knowledge of the community services sector and has fostered strong working relationships and respect from her peers.
The Department of Human Services is central to State Government efforts to support South Australians during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms Bowell has led the department’s swift work to support the social services sector, as well as provide food relief, new grants and additional concessions for the most vulnerable South Australians.
Ms Boswell, a lawyer, is also adjunct Professor of the University of South Australia and holds a Masters of Applied Science in Social Ecology.
Prior to her current role, she held positions including Executive Director of Cabinet Office, Social Impact Assessor for the Regional Forest Agreements, Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal Member, and Community Legal Centre Manager.Page last updated : 16 Jan 2022
