Tomorrow, on 26 January 2021, Australia will have a scheduled public holiday and some will choose to celebrate this as Australia Day.
Department of Human Services acknowledges that this is also a day that holds a different significance for many Aboriginal communities, including a commemoration of survival and mourning for losses.
We respectfully acknowledge this and continue to work towards reconciliation and truth telling for First Nations Peoples.
