The State Government is stepping up its support for community organisations with funding grants of up to $25,000 now on offer through Grants SA.
Chief Executive of the Department of Human Services Lois Boswell said the new Reconnect Grant Round has been designed to help South Australians reconnect with each other and is open to all not-for-profits that support vulnerable or disadvantaged people and communities.
“With so many people experiencing unprecedented challenges and feelings of isolation or disconnection over the past year, now is the time for extra investment in community projects and programs that will help bring people together,’’ Ms Boswell said.
“The Reconnect grants will create a positive ripple effect across the state, supporting grassroots initiatives that allow people to feel a sense of community, belonging and connection with each other.
“From the smallest local charities to larger established non-profits, I encourage all community organisations to consider applying for a Reconnect grant.”
The Reconnect Grant Round is designed to support a wide range of community initiatives, with a focus on boosting connection and belonging for vulnerable or disadvantaged people and communities.
A variety of projects or programs may be eligible for funding – be it running a new outreach program, upgrading community facilities or purchasing new equipment.
More than $2.1 million in grants was provided last year to help community organisations adapt their operations in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds went towards IT upgrades, to allow community organisations deliver services online or have staff and volunteers work from home, as well as food relief for struggling households and other projects that responded to changing community needs.
Applications for the Reconnect Grant Round are open now and close on Friday 23 April at 3:00pm. To learn more or to apply visit Grants SA.Page last updated : 12 Aug 2021
