Exceptional Needs Unit Training and Development Support Grants now open
2023-02-01

The Department of Human Services, through its Exceptional Needs Unit (ENU), is boosting the capacity of frontline organisations to support South Australians with exceptional needs.
Training and Development Support Grants of up to $10,000 are now available for community-based, not-for-profit or Aboriginal-led organisations that work directly with exceptional needs clients.
The grants aim to empower frontline staff with the skills, confidence and capacity to better meet the needs of clients and will be allocated in the following categories:
- 5 grants for Aboriginal-led organisations across South Australia
- 10 grants for organisations in regional South Australia
- 10 grants for organisations in metropolitan Adelaide.
This is the second of three annual grants to be offered in 2022, 2023 and 2024, representing an investment of $750,000.
Examples of training completed by last year’s grant recipients include Mental Health First Aid, Foundations of LGBTI Inclusion, Trauma Informed Cultural Response and Working with Cultural Diversity.
