DHS Disability Services

DHS Disability Services helps people with disability to live as independently as possible.

We provide about 30 per cent of supported independent living services in metropolitan and country South Australia.

Through this service, South Australians with disability have access to a range of accommodation arrangements that reflect their needs and preferences.

The types of accommodation include:

  • living alone
  • sharing with others
  • group homes
  • cluster groupings and cluster sites
  • high support homes.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards and the daily routine for each house is tailored to the people who live there.

Our Mission

We are one of South Australia’s leading providers of support for people with disability living in individual units, group homes, and cluster accommodation.

Our aim is to provide a personalised, first-class service that empowers South Australians with disability as equal citizens with control and choice over where they want to live, helping them to maximise their potential and opportunities in life.

We focus on quality of life, maximising independence, and personal skills development, and involve residents in decisions about them. We encourage participation in the local community and support the involvement of family and friends.

We’re also committed to maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the people we support.

Our Services

We provide supported accommodation and lifestyle support to NDIS-eligible people through community-based supported accommodation services.

To be eligible for the NDIS you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident under the age of 65 with a life-long disability that affects how you manage everyday activities (that is, you need help from other people or specialised equipment to do certain things).
