16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

General
16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence 25 November to 10 December 2024

Domestic, family, and sexual violence are the most common forms of harm to women and children.

The 16 Days of Activism is a yearly campaign by the United Nations to raise awareness that violence against women and girls is a violation of basic human rights. It also encourages everyone to take action to stop it.

This campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, International Human Rights Day. It’s a chance for individuals, communities, and organisations to stand up, unite and help prevent all forms of abuse—whether it is physical, emotional, sexual, financial, or psychological.

Join events in your area to take a stand against all forms of abuse.

Violence is not acceptable. It is preventable.
