Volunteering

More than 1 million South Australian volunteers of all ages and abilities contribute their valuable skills, time and energy to our state’s economy. People who volunteer in their communities feel happier, healthier and more socially connected.

DHS helps to build and strengthen volunteering in South Australia by funding, supporting and driving initiatives that recognise and celebrate volunteers, and ensure the sector’s sustainability. We are also responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Volunteering Strategy for SA 2021–2027. The strategy aims to support and enhance volunteering in SA.
