Recognising the contribution of South Australia’s many volunteers is vital to help retain their services and to show appreciation for their personal dedication and generosity.
The State Government honours these efforts through a number of initiatives, including the Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Volunteer Service, the South Australian Volunteer Awards and the annual Volunteers Day.
South Australia Volunteers Day
In 2002, the Government of South Australia officially proclaimed the Monday of the King’s Birthday long weekend in June as SA Volunteers Day. This special day was established to celebrate and honour the invaluable contributions of volunteers.
Each year, SA Volunteers Day serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and efforts of those who generously give their time to support communities throughout South Australia.
