The Office for Ageing Well team is a DHS team that supports South Australians to age well. We actively listen to older adults. We collaborate with government, non-government, and community organisations to ensure older adults remain active, engaged, supported, and safe.
Our programs and services
- Seniors Card program: Discounts and benefits for eligible South Australians aged 60 and over.
- Retirement Villages Unit: Support for retirement village residents and operators.
- State Ageing Well Plan: Planning for the future needs of older people.
- Community and research grants: Funding for projects that benefit older people.
- Adult Safeguarding Unit: Protecting adults who may be vulnerable.
What we do
- Advise and support the Minister for Seniors and Ageing Well.
- Raise awareness about issues affecting older people.
- Work together with government and community.
- Help with policy, planning, and service development.
