Office for Ageing Well supports South Australians to age well. We actively listen to older adults and collaborate with government, non-government, and community organisations to ensure they remain active, engaged, supported, and safe.
Our programs and services
- Seniors Card program: Discounts and benefits for eligible South Australians aged 60 and over.
- Retirement Villages Unit: Support for retirement village residents and operators.
- State Ageing Well Plan: Planning for the future needs of older people.
- Community and research grants: Funding for projects that benefit older people.
- Adult Safeguarding Unit: Protecting adults who may be vulnerable.

On 4 June 2025 the Minister for Human Services introduced a Bill to amend the Ageing and Adult Safeguarding Act 1995.
Retirement Villages
The Parliament of South Australia passed amendments to the Retirement Villages Act 2016 that are yet to commence.
