If you are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, there are resources and services to help you.

Homeless Connect SA

Homeless Connect SA can assess your situation, provide you with free advice and can refer you to local homelessness services.

Homelessness assistance available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, phone 1800 003 308.

Domestic Violence Crisis Line

Domestic Violence Crisis Line provides private and confidential support for people experiencing domestic and family violence.

Phone 1300 782 200 or 1800 800 098 - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For non-urgent matters phone 131 444 to speak with a police officer.

The Women’s Information Service provides advice to help women find out more information about supports available for non-urgent matters, for example:

Mental health support

Mental Health Triage SA can give advice, assess your situation and connect you or someone you care about to local mental health services, phone 13 14 65, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Lifeline is a national crisis support service for anyone thinking about suicide, offering confidential advice. Phone 13 11 14, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Beyond Blue provides support for people who are experiencing anxiety, depression or emotional distress. Phone 1300 224 636, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Rent and bond assistance

Private Rental Assistance helps people experiencing or at risk of homelessness access or maintain a private rental.

The South Australian Housing Trust can help eligible people pay bond and rent in advance before moving into a rental property.

Help with the cost of living

Support for young people

Pickle.org.au is a free, youth-friendly website that helps young people (12 to 25 years old) in South Australia find support for mental health, housing, money, and safety. It is easy to use, anonymous, and designed to connect young people with the help they need.

Support to keep adults safe and well

The Adult Safeguarding Unit offers confidential information, advice, and support to help keep you or another adult safe from abuse or mistreatment. They can help report abuse of adults, make a safety plan, and connect you with other services.

QLife offers free and anonymous phone and webchat peer support for LGBTIQA+ people in Australia about what is going on in life, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.

13YARN is a free, confidential crisis support service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can talk to a trained Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter about your situation.
