Be part of shaping the state's first Autism Strategy
Parents and carers of an autistic person, including child, young person or adult are invited to participate in a Parents and Carers forum on Friday 17 February 2023.
What is happening?
The State Government has commenced public consultations with the autistic and autism communities to co-design the state’s first Autism Strategy (the Strategy) and Autism Charter.
The development and creation of the Strategy is an important step towards creating a more knowledgeable and inclusive and community where autistic people can meaningfully participate.
We want to hear from you
In order to inform the development of the Strategy, we want to hear about your experiences and ideas to support the autistic and autism communities in South Australia.
How the Parents and Carers forum will work
The forum will be delivered in a facilitated workshop format, where each participant will be assigned to a roundtable group discussion (8 to 10 people), and each table focuses on 4 questions from South Australia's first Autism Strategy - Discussion Paper (PDF 669 KB).
Questions to be discussed at the forum will be provided to attendees in advance of the session.
We will explore a range of priority issues that have been identified by the autistic and autism communities, including access to government services, community attitudes, safety, equity, health and wellbeing.
