Grants for Community Centres now available
A new grant round worth $1.5 million is now available to Community Centres across South Australia. Community Centres not already funded through the existing Community and Neighbourhood Development (CND) Program can apply for one-off grants of up to $30,000 each.
This new funding recognises the important work of Community Centres in running programs and activities that help strengthen local communities.
Eligible community centres
While DHS provides ongoing CND funding to 66 Community Centres, an estimated 70 centres across the state are not funded through that program. This grants round is exclusively for those community centres.
Applications are encouraged from Community Centres in regional and remote areas, and centres in areas of disadvantage (as identified by the Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas). View the list of CND funded community centres to see who are not eligible to apply for this round of grant funding.
Supported activities
These grants will support activities which could include:
- new programs to meet a specific local need;
- programs to increase community participation and combat social isolation;
- support for the recruitment and retention of volunteers; and
- training for staff and volunteers.
Deadline for applications
GrantsSA 2024–25 Community Centres Round opened on 19 August 2024 and will close at 3.00 pm on 2 October 2024.
