New disability grants of up to $100 thousand to continue Julia Farr legacy

A new grant program offering up to $100 thousand in grant funding will honour the legacy of Julia Farr by funding innovative disability initiatives across South Australia.

The Julia Farr Disability Inclusion Grants will support projects that improve accessibility and inclusion for people with disability.

Funding round to strengthen inclusive environments and communities

Delivered by the Department of Human Services, the program offers two tiers of funding: up to $20,000 for 12-month projects and up to $100,000 for 24-month projects.

Grants will support creative, community-driven projects that enhance:

  • active participation and inclusive communities
  • inclusive behaviours and attitudes
  • accessibility to natural and built environments
  • accessibility of communication and information
  • cultural and creative participation
  • access to technology and digital inclusion.

Applicants eligible for the grants program include SA organisations that provide support services to locals, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, local government entities, community centres and neighbourhood houses.
