New Homelessness Outcomes Framework to drive system-wide change

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has introduced a new plan called the Homelessness Outcomes Framework.
This plan shows what we aim to achieve for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and for the services that help them. It builds on the DHS Outcomes Framework and includes clear signs of success, helping us track progress and find ways to improve.
The Framework also supports the Closing the Gap initiative, ensuring that equitable outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people remain central to all our work in this space.
By focusing on results and what helps achieve them, the Framework will:
- Strengthen partnerships and teamwork across services
- Improve data collection and analysis
- Support strategic planning and innovation
- Drive continuous improvement in client outcomes and system development.
This is a significant milestone in our journey toward a future where homelessness is prevented or resolved through coordinated, person-centred, and evidence-informed services.
