No-one left behind: South Australia launches landmark disability inclusion plan

General

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is proud to announce a major milestone in the advancement of inclusion and accessibility across the state with the launch of South Australia's State Disability Inclusion Plan 2025–2029.

Building on strong foundations

This landmark plan sets a bold vision to improve accessibility, fairness and opportunity for South Australians with disability. Building on the strong foundations laid by the first plan launched in 2019, this new plan was shaped in close partnership with the disability community to ensure it reflects real experiences, priorities and aspirations.

A shared vision

More than 100 government agencies and local councils will now take this shared vision forward, embedding clear, measurable actions into their own Disability Access and Inclusion Plans.

Five domains to guide inclusion

The plan focuses on five key domains:

  • Inclusive environments and communities
  • Education and employment
  • Personal and community support
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Safety, rights and justice.

These domains will guide policies, initiatives and services to be more inclusive and responsive to the needs of people with disability.
