SA Youth Week 2025 wraps up with record numbers of events across the state

South Australia’s largest celebration of young people, SA Youth Week 2025 (SAYW), has officially wrapped up, following nine inspiring days of events, creativity and connection.
From 9 to 17 April, more than 75 events took place across metropolitan and regional SA, showcasing the skill, talent and diverse voices of young South Australians aged 12 to 25. This year’s program featured a wide variety of youth-led and youth-focused events—from art exhibitions and cultural workshops to sporting competitions and community-building activities.
As part of the SAYW 2025 free launch event, DHS was pleased to announce South Australia’s Youth Action Plan 2025-2028, a roadmap aimed at providing young people, particularly those facing isolation, disadvantage, and discrimination, with more opportunities to thrive.
A big year for SAYW grants
In 2025, DHS awarded $70,000 in grant funding to 29 organisations across the state—up from $50,000 in 2024. Grant recipients included a youth disability network, a multicultural youth organisation, and a range of regional councils.
These grants are an important part of making SA Youth Week accessible and inclusive, enabling organisations to host events that resonate with their local communities.
Looking ahead to SA Youth Week 2026
Grant applications for SAYW 2026 will open in late 2025, with funding again available for eligible groups across South Australia.
If you're part of an organisation or group that is led by, or works with, young people, it’s never too early to start thinking about hosting your own event for SA Youth Week 2026!
