Aboriginal Recruitment

We welcome and value the professional expertise, cultural knowledge and life experience that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people bring to the workplace and are committed to increasing the participation of Aboriginal people across all areas of the department.

Our department is focused on providing a workplace that demonstrates cultural capability, supporting Aboriginal recruitment and retention, with deep respect for cultural needs as outlined in our Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.

We have opportunities for entry level roles, professional positions, student and traineeship programs, and direct service delivery roles to work with clients.

Aboriginal Traineeship Program

We have partnered with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment, Tauondi College and HitSa to open some exciting entry level employment opportunities for members of the South Australian Aboriginal community. There are office-based and frontline service roles available, with the opportunity to undertake nationally recognised qualifications during the traineeship.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university student pathways

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and are studying university level education, we want to hear from you!

We can work with you to tailor a university partnership, with office-based and frontline service roles available. You will have the opportunity to develop and apply your academic knowledge in a professional work environment, with mentoring programs specific to your needs.

We pride ourselves on providing a safe and inclusive work environment for all staff.
