Cost of Living Concession payments received by South Australians

Around 220,000 South Australians on low incomes have received their annual Cost of Living Concession payment.

The $270.60 payment was paid directly into eligible customers’ bank accounts in August.

Since 2022, more than $350 million in Cost of Living Concession payments has been provided to help South Australian households with everyday costs.

If you were expecting a payment and are not sure whether you received it, check your bank statement for a $270.60 payment made after 25 August.

Not receiving the Cost of Living Concession?

If you are not currently receiving the Cost of Living Concession, now is a good time to check whether you are eligible.

Applications for this year’s payment need to be made by 31 December 2026.

People living in boarding houses, Supported Residential Facilities or disability supported accommodation are also encouraged to check whether they are eligible.

One application can help with more than one household bill

When you apply for household concessions, one application covers all the household concessions you are eligible for.

In 2026–27, an eligible household can receive concessions worth up to:

• $1,321 for homeowners
• $1,047 for tenants.

The amount available to homeowners is higher because homeowners may also receive the sewerage concession and Emergency Services Levy concession. Tenants do not pay these charges directly, so they do not receive these concessions.
