A safe place to call home is the foundation for good health, wellbeing and connection. Unfortunately for many South Australians, homelessness remains a reality or an ongoing risk.
Homelessness Week shines a spotlight on the importance of working together to prevent and reduce homelessness, while recognising the dedication of the people and organisations who support those in need.
Across the state, government-funded homelessness services, community organisations, volunteers and partner agencies work together every day to help people access the services they require and we’d like to acknowledge the collective effort being made across South Australia to help address homelessness.

Homelessness Week by Homelessness Australia
Homelessness Week 2026 (HW2026) is held from Monday 3 August to Sunday 9 August 2026, with the theme “Homelessness Action Now”. HW2026 aims to build community awareness and government commitment to end homelessness. Find everything you need to connect with the Week and about events that might be happening near you on the Homelessness Australia website.
Frontline Workers Forum 2026 by Homelessness SA
An annual industry event that brings together frontline workers from various services, promoting networking, information exchange and valuable connections.

Annual Memorial Service by Homelessness SA
A free community event by Homelessness SA to honour and remember those who died while experiencing homelessness. This event is open to the public.

How you can help
If you are concerned about someone experiencing homelessness, or who is at risk of homelessness, you can help connect them to support services such as:
Homeless Connect SA
A free-to-call statewide service that can take a look at someone’s situation, provide them with free advice and refer them to local homelessness services.

Street Connect
If you are worried about someone you see sleeping rough in Adelaide CBD, North Adelaide or surrounding parklands, you can pin their location via the Street Connect website to let support workers know. An outreach worker will visit the person and offer help and support.
