More energy bill relief for concession customers in South Australia

South Australians who receive the State Government energy concession will soon be able to save more on their electricity and gas bills.

The State Government has secured a new agreement with Origin Energy under the South Australian Concessions Energy Discount Offer (SACEDO). The deal gives eligible customers access to higher discounts and more flexible payment options.

Under the new offer, eligible customers who choose to sign up with Origin can receive:

• 20 per cent off electricity usage and supply charges
• 15 per cent off gas usage and supply charges
• 40 per cent off the local price of a 45kg LPG cylinder for 12 months
• Flexible payment options, including extensions if needed
• No late payment fees or exit fees.

Around 200 thousand South Australians are eligible for the SACEDO scheme. Customers who are already receiving the SACEDO discount with Origin will automatically move to the new offer — no action is required.

The new SACEDO offer is available now and will run until at least 2029. The State Government does not subsidise the discount. The savings are provided directly by the retailer.
