SA Youth Week returns with free celebration for young people
Young people across the state will take centre stage when SA Youth Week 2026 kicks off from 9 to 17 April, with events celebrating creativity, culture, sport and leadership.
It all begins with Youth Fest, a free launch event for young people aged 12 to 25, which will be held at City Skate in Adelaide on Thursday 9 April 2026.
This free event will feature live music from local bands Salty Sisters, Handouts and Emerauld, a young makers market showcasing handmade creations, interactive workshops, skate clinics and a chill-out sensory space.
SA Youth Week is the state’s largest celebration of young people, coordinated by DHS, with events organised for and by young people across metropolitan and regional South Australia.
Over 68 thousand dollars in grant funding
This year, 29 organisations will share $68,753 in grant funding to deliver events during SA Youth Week, including projects led by a youth disability network, a multicultural youth organisation and a host of local councils. More than half of the funding supports events in regional and rural communities, helping ensure more young people can connect, build skills and showcase their talents.
