Youth Advisory Council to the Minister for Human Services

Do you want to have a say in shaping future policies impacting young people?

Do you know the challenges young people face, and think you could be part of the solution?

Are you a thought leader who can represent the best interests of young people in this State?

If so, make your voice count! Express your interest now to join the new Youth Advisory Council to the Minister for Human Services.

Eligibility

Membership is open to all young people between 12 and 24 years of age living in South Australia.

Applications are strongly encouraged from young people representing diverse locations, backgrounds and life experiences including:

  • regional residents
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
  • young people from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • LGBTIQA+ young people
  • young people living with disability.

The council will play an important role in advising the Minister for Human Services on issues relevant to young people across the state. Membership provides a valuable opportunity for young people to contribute to the work of the State Government.

Time commitment

The Minister will appoint members for an initial term of 12 months.

This three-year state government plan outlines actions that government departments currently take or will take in partnership with young people and key stakeholders to  create new opportunities and build strong futures for all young South Australians.

SA Youth Week 2022

SA Youth Week is South Australia’s biggest celebration for young people aged 12 to 25.

In 2022, the week will run from 13 to 22 May.
