Membership is open to all young people between 12 and 24 years of age living in South Australia.
Applications are strongly encouraged from young people representing diverse locations, backgrounds and life experiences including:
- regional residents
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
- young people from culturally diverse backgrounds
- LGBTIQA+ young people
- young people living with disability.
Members will be chosen by an independent panel of sector experts.
The council will play an important role in advising the Minister for Human Services on issues relevant to young people across the state. Membership provides a valuable opportunity for young people to contribute to the work of the State Government.
The Minister will appoint members for an initial term of 12 months.
