Safer Family Services is growing

General

Recruitment is underway for a 40-strong team of family preservation professionals dedicated to helping Northern Adelaide families keep their children safe and well.

Applications are sought from both experienced and up-and-coming family practitioners with qualifications in Social Work or an Allied Health profession like Psychology.

Practitioners will work closely with children, young people and the adults in families to address risks, build capacity and create safety. This may include working on parenting skills, increasing access to needed services, strategies to improve school attendance, and other practical support.

The team will focus on helping at-risk families as soon as child safety concerns are identified and before problems escalate to a level that requires child removal.

Unlike some other early intervention programs, the new team will not be limited to working with specific age groups but will help families with children from pre-birth all the way through to 18 years.

The program is expected to support around 250 families a year when it is fully operational in 2024.

A range of senior and mid-level roles including Practitioner, Senior Practitioner and Aboriginal Practitioner are on offer in the current round of recruitment, with applications open until 16 November.
