South Australia launches inaugural three-year Youth Action Plan

2020-04-20

The Minister for Human Services, the Hon Michelle Lensink MLC, has launched the three-year Youth Action Plan to support South Australian young people learn, grow and reach their full potential.

A key objective of the plan is to provide young South Australians with innovative and exciting career paths to inspire them to live, work and study in our state.

The plan, Strong Futures, has four key priority areas:

  • Earn and Learn: preparing young people for work and life
  • Fair and Inclusive: including young people and supporting them to reach their potential
  • Wellbeing and Environment: ensuring young people are safe, healthy and resilient
  • Connect and Grow: ensuring young people are engaged and have influence.

Strong Futures was developed in consultation with hundreds of young people to identify new opportunities that respond directly to their priorities.

Strong Futures will be reviewed throughout the plan cycle to keep it up to date, responsive to emerging trends and tracking progress.

In response to young people’s calls for commitment to transparency, accessibility and preserving the environment, the plan will be almost entirely digital with its website  enabling progress to be tracked and connecting to initiatives.
