This is an archived media release. The information may be outdated.

For the latest information, refer to our latest media releases.

SA Youth Week (SAYW) is South Australia’s annual celebration of young people and it’s on again from 13 to 22 May this year.

To support the celebrations in regional and rural SA, the Department of Human Services is offering grants of up to $1500 to local councils, state government agencies and local organisations that work with young people (ages 12 – 25) to host SAYW projects and events.

SAYW is all about showcasing young peoples’ talents, contributions and achievements. Across the state, a wide array of projects and events will be held that support young people to express their ideas, recognise both their common interests and diverse backgrounds, and promote a positive image of young people. From virtual workshops to art competitions and musical festivities, there are lots of ways for young people and organisations to celebrate SAYW (while staying COVID-19 safe).

Grant applications open Wednesday 19 January and close 3pm Wednesday 9 February. Successful applicants will be notified by 23 February.
