Consultation to better recognise our state's carers closes this Friday

General

DHS is leading a review of the Carers Recognition Act, including a comprehensive consultation process.

Last week, representatives from State Government departments and non-government organisations that support carers met to have their say on how the Carers Recognition Act can better recognise the contributions of South Australia’s 245,000 unpaid carers.

Carers can come in many forms, including partners, children, parents and friends. This was a valuable opportunity to ensure their needs are considered.

This session was one of a number of consultations to have taken place throughout the sector and the responses will be used to inform recommendations to change the Act.

The public consultation process closes this Friday 15 December, so don’t miss your last chance to provide feedback. Visit the consultation page at YourSAy and join the approximately 150 people who have already participated in the survey.
