Have your say about a new plan for young South Australians

General

Young people hold the key to creating a better future. They have told us they want to be taken seriously, listened to, and included in the important conversations.

That’s why the South Australian Government invites all young people living in SA aged 12-25 and organisations with a focus on young people, to participate in a public consultation for South Australia’s next Youth Action Plan, from 7 June to 6 August 2023.

The consultation on South Australia’s next Youth Action Plan provides young people and stakeholder organisations an opportunity to provide direct input to South Australia’s next Youth Action Plan which aims to improve access to:

  • opportunities
  • resources
  • support.

We want to know what is most important to young people

The consultation asks you to consider the potential actions in the consultation paper, propose other actions, or raise any other issues you think are important for young South Australians.

Actions are proposed across 5 topic areas:

  1. Physical Health, and social and emotional wellbeing and mental health: Young Australians are physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy.
  2. Safety and justice: Young South Australians are safe and nurtured.
  3. Education and employment: Young South Australians are successfully learning and\or working.
  4. Connections and access to resources: Young South Australians are connected to community and needed resources.
  5. Citizenship and participation: Young South Australians participate actively in society.

How to ‘join the conversation’

There are many ways to participate in the public consultation for South Australia’s next Youth Action Plan.

Have YourSAY until 6 August 2023, and encourage young people to get involved too!
