Geelong Star and 2022 AFL Premiership player Tyson Stengle recently visited Kurlana Tapa Youth Training Centre to speak with the young residents.

Tyson, a Wirangu man from South Australia’s West Coast, played a starring role in the 2022 AFL Grand Final, kicking four goals for Geelong to help them secure the Premiership.

The former Adelaide Crows and Richmond player was very generous with his time upon visiting the centre.

"Tyson spent the day visiting each unit at the centre and spoke with every young person," said Senior Aboriginal Advisor Joel Bayliss.

"Some of them grew ten feet."

During Tyson’s visit to the centre, he demonstrated his outstanding goal kicking skills and answered questions from the young residents about making it in the AFL and overcoming adversity.

It was a particular treat for the young people to see and hold his premiership medal.

The visit was accompanied by a sausage sizzle, while every young person received a mini football for Tyson to sign as a souvenir of a truly memorable day.
