Family and child support

DHS is providing Community Care free of charge for families with babies, children and young people.

Families are welcome to use the service, staffed by qualified and experienced professionals, as they ​undertake recovery efforts or need some respite.

Service will not be open on catastrophic fire days.

What to bring

• Medication
• A bottle with milk or formula (if needed)
• Other items (if available)
• A comforter, special toy or game
• Change of clothes
• Drink bottle
• A healthy snack and/or lunch
• A sun hat
• Nappies and wipes (if needed)
