DHS Suicide Prevention Action Plan

The department has developed its first Suicide Prevention Action Plan in collaboration with staff, community members, organisations and key stakeholders.

As one of ten state government agencies working on a Suicide Prevention Action Plan, our collective efforts contribute to the goals of the South Australian Suicide Prevention Plan 2023–2026. Each department’s plan contributes to preventing suicide among the people they serve and support.

The plan will help us to:

  • improve the wellbeing of our staff and the South Australians we support
  • enhance suicide prevention efforts statewide by working with people with lived experience, government agencies, non-government organisations, and other stakeholders.

Public consultation

All feedback was carefully considered and a consultation report outlining who we heard from, what we heard and how we will use this feedback is now available via the YourSAY consultation page
