DHS Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP)

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) that supports the State Disability Inclusion Plan. The DAIP outlines the actions DHS will take over the next four years to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of our services and supports.

The DHS DAIP also includes an annexure – the DHS Autism Strategy Action Plan. This ensures both the DAIP and Action Plan form one document to keep all of our disability‑related commitments together in one place, ensuring alignment, consistency and easier access for the community.

The DHS Autism Strategy Action Plan outlines the actions we will take over the next four years to strengthen the accessibility, inclusiveness and responsiveness of our services for Autistic people, their families and carers, working in partnership with the DAIP.

Implementation of our DAIP and Autism Strategy Action Plan will be overseen by specific DHS committees that will regularly review both plans to ensure they remain responsive to the needs, interests and lived experiences of people with disability and Autistic people.

Reporting on both the DAIP and Autism Strategy Action Plan will be streamlined and progress will be reported in our Annual Reports.
