DHS Suicide Prevention Action Plan

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has developed its first Suicide Prevention Action Plan. This plan was crafted in collaboration with staff, community members, organisations and key stakeholders.

As one of ten state government agencies working on a Suicide Prevention Action Plan, our collective efforts contribute to the goals of the South Australian Suicide Prevention Plan 2023–2026. Each department’s plan plays a part in preventing suicide among the people they support and work with.

The focus of the plan is to improve the wellbeing of our staff and the South Australians we support, while working with people with lived experience, government agencies, non-government organisations, and other stakeholders to enhance suicide prevention efforts state-wide.
