SA Youth Week

SA Youth Week (SAYW) is South Australia’s biggest celebration of young people aged 12 to 25. Held each year, SAYW, recognises the ideas, talents and contributions of young people in South Australia and includes a wide range of events and activities created by and for young people.

SAYW 2024 took place from Friday 15 March to Sunday 24 March. Over 10 days, young South Australians tried their hand at a huge range of activities, including African drumming, yoga, a Youth Mob tree climb, a dance tournament, painting and an Amazing Race event centred on mental wellbeing – just to name a few! A particular highlight was a state-wide consultation tour with the United Nations Youth Australia representative for SA.

The Department provided $50,000 in grant funding for organisations, including not-for-profit community groups, non-government organisations and local councils, to celebrate SAYW in their local community.
