SA Youth Week

SA Youth Week (SAYW), South Australia’s biggest celebration of young people aged 12 to 25, has now concluded for 2025. The program ran from 9 to 17 April, with more than 75 events held across the state.

Proudly supported by the Department of Human Services (DHS), SAYW is held annually and recognises the ideas, talents and contributions of young people in South Australia. The program features a diverse range of events created by and for young people, including arts, culture, sports and community-building activities.

As part of the SAYW 2025 free launch event, DHS also announced South Australia’s Youth Action Plan 2025-2028, a roadmap aimed at providing young people, particularly those facing isolation, disadvantage, and discrimination, with more opportunities to thrive.

Thank you to everyone who participated in, or hosted events, and helped make SAYW 2025 such a success!

If you're part of an organisation or group that is led by, or works with young people, we encourage you to consider hosting an event for SA Youth Week 2026.

SA Youth Week 2026 Grants

Each year, DHS offers grant funding to eligible organisations to support the delivery of SAYW events across South Australia.

Applications for SA Youth Week 2026 grants will open in late 2025.

In 2025, DHS awarded $70,000 in grant funding to 29 organisations across the state—up from $50,000 in 2024. Grant recipients included a youth disability network, a multicultural youth organisation, and a host of regional councils. Each organisation received up to $2,500 to bring their SAYW events to life.

Keep an eye out for updates and application details later this year!
