Whyalla Maritime Museum

Come and explore the stories, ships, people and industries that helped shape Whyalla.

Free entry during Week of Ageing Well, 1 to 7 October.

Access to the ship is by guided tour only. Ship tours are at 10.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm daily.

The Whyalla Maritime Museum is home to one of Whyalla's most treasured icons, the former HMAS Whyalla, the first ship built in the Whyalla Shipyards in 1941.

Standing high and dry, 2 kilometres from the sea and 2 metres above the ground, HMAS Whyalla offers visitors the unique experience of walking underneath the ship before stepping aboard with a tour guide.

πŸ—οΈ Discover Whyalla's wartime and shipbuilding history, explore the marine environment of the Upper Spencer Gulf, and learn about the region's maritime past.

Visit the Singing to the Sharks exhibition, enjoy one of Australia's largest HO-scale model railways, and relax in the museum's tranquil native gardens.

There’s something to discover around every corner! βš“πŸš‚πŸŒΏ
