Event description :
Ever wanted to know how to fix a flat tyre or keep your bike running smoothly? The Ride Ready Bike Repair Workshop is a hands-on session where young people will learn the essential skills to maintain and repair their bikes.
Delivered by experienced instructors from Fleurieu Bike, this interactive workshop will guide participants through the basics of bike safety, maintenance, and repairs. Young people can bring their own bike to work on or practise using Reclink bikes provided on the day.
Participants will learn how to:
- Perform a simple ABC safety check (Air, Brakes, Chain) before riding
- Fix punctures and remove and reinstall wheels safely
- Adjust brakes and gears for smoother riding
- Clean and maintain the chain and drivetrain
- Use basic bike tools safely and confidently
The workshop is designed to be practical and engaging, ensuring everyone gets the chance to work directly on a bike and build real-life skills. For more experienced riders, instructors may also explore additional mechanical adjustments and servicing tips.
This session is perfect for young people who rely on their bikes for transport, love riding, or simply want to learn how to keep their bike in great shape.
